Liberals and Republicans not so different

I was reading the Comments section in the Calgary Sun the other day. It's one of my favourite sections to read, sports is #1, it offers different opinions to almost every issue. A lot of which a disagree with.
Anyways; after I read this article by Lorrie Goldstein it made me laugh. Check it out at www.torontosun.ca/News/Columnists/Goldstein_Lorrie/2005/07/23/1144996.html
Not that I think Bush is a great man, a good man, or even a smart man. It's just funny how we as Canadians think were not like the Americans. Where we're more alike than you'd realize.
It's funny cause it's true.

Oh yeah they're all the same. No matter what side you're on.
Yeah you're right, Lorrie's article is full of holes. What else would you expect from a conservative columnist from Toronto.
Jingo, she's really a he. Lorrie Goldstein is a guy. That crazy fucking jew. (I kid cause I love)

Wicked, I guess since we all agree that the conservative/liberal political machines are all equally greasy I'll be expecting Clawmonkey to cast a vote for the NDP in the soon to come federal election? Since they are the only party free from the greasy grip of corperate manipulation, and the only party who truly worked within the parliment to advance their causes without resorting to, ad scams, doctored audio tapes, or spending donation money on his own luncheon, we happily anticipate your support ...shall we put you down for a lawn sign monkey?

Well, I agree that all politicians are crooked. However, whether I agree with their policies or positions is completely different.
NDP'rs have a GENERAL good concept, except for the fact that it's been proven it does more harm than good. For example that type of government messed things up in provinces like Saskatchewan and British Columbia. The economies in these provinces went in the toilet. They're just starting to get back on track, with a Liberal government none the less. Higher taxes, no businesses; no jobs. Why do you think everyone moves to Alberta? LOTS of jobs. Alberta's economy is strong, not only because of our natural resources. But it's nicely maintained and steady because of all the business that is done.
I'm very interested in what he Green Party will do. Different party, different ideas. Unfortunately, the media doesn't include them in official debates during elections. (insert another rant here).

Voting for the NDP now, I see. Don't I recall you once casting a vote for the Reform Party. My how quickly you turn to the darkside.

On a side note: Joel Dupuis is the new Team Leader in RP at Sears NLC. He says "Hi"

Now Now, let's not bicker over who ruined who's province. I come from a province that Honest John Buchanan (tory) put in the poorhouse because of patronage to his corperate buddies a la Ralph, the Alberta Trough is just much deeper. Hopefully Alberta never has to endure another crash like '82 but thats the risk you run when your tied into Natural Resource based economy. As for the buisness, if the disposable income of Albertans drops, so to will buisness dry up. Low interest rates, and home equity ensure that Albertans, who have one of the best home owner % of population in the country, will have the economic freedom to make the purchases to keep retail markets moving. The only downside is that unlike Dreadmonton, Calgary is the Executive capitol of the Oil Companies. If Oil Drops and the Companies have to trim the fat...executives with big salaries are usually the first to go.

Ahhh yes...the bleak election of '93
" Vote Angry!...Vote Often...Vote reform!"
I cast a vote for the reform party as a protest against the "big Three" twits that were making asses of themselves in the Halifax riding. Mary Clancy...big fat bitchy liberal lawyer, Terry Donahue, career tory politician with Honest John's fingerprints all over him, and Alexa Mc-DUH-na, who basically had my vote until she opened her mouth and all that came out was spoot! Not only will I vote for you based on what you stand for, I will vote against you for who you are, no matter what political stripe you wear. If I were to do it again I would probably vote for the greens or the Mary Janers.
Ethically I would stand by my vote for the NDP, I doubt very much they could form a government federally let alone a Majority. However in Nova Scotia nowadays, they are a very active and effective opposition in our Provincial house, The Tory Minority has had to work with them and they keep each other honest. What I don't like is when there is no effective opposition to a government, i.e. the Jean Cretchien years, or the Ralphie Dynasty where the ruling party simply outnumbers the opposition, this results in no debate over issues.

That's why you have to bend to the companies a little bit. So there will always be jobs. Now I realize I'm opening up a whole new can of worms, regarding employers/owners and how they pay their employees. But that's for another time.
Yeah I know why you voted for the Reform Party. I just had to bug you about that. It's funny.
I agree with you about an effective opposition. I just find nothing happens when it a minority. Nobody can agree and nothing gets done. So we pay these bozos, with our hard earned tax dollars. I'm just thinking of the Meech Lake Accord for some reason, when I think of wasted money.
Ralph's gone retire soon, he's starting to wear out his welcome.
